History

Space Age Technologies was founded in 1994 with a focus of providing high quality IT products and solutions to home users and small businesses in the Western Cape.   Space Age developed close ties with companies such as Intel and Microsoft, becoming members of their partner programs at an early stage.

As the company grew, and dependence by small / medium (SME) businesses on their IT increased, Space Age realised that, in order for the SME market to compete with its larger, enterprise competitors, there was a need for a dedicated, specialised IT service provider.

As far back as 2001, Space Age launched what at the time was a revolutionary, Managed Services offering – called SATAware™. This enabled the company to offer 24×7 peace of mind service and support to its customers, several years before this type of service was commonly available.

Due to the uniqueness of this Managed Service within the SME market, Space Age formed partnerships with other IT service providers who wanted to differentiate themselves by providing their clients with the same level of service. One such alliance was with Microsoft Certified Partner, Genesis Systems. This partnership grew closer between 2002 and 2007, with the two companies eventually merging early in 2007.
